Sensity Newsletter | Issue #1

Dear friends,

We’ve been meaning to write this for a while, and we’re really happy to finally share it with you. Sensity Studio now has a newsletter.

If you’re receiving this, it means you’ve been part of our world in some way, and that genuinely means a lot to us. We wanted to create a space where we can stay in touch, share what we’ve been working on, and bring you a bit closer to everything happening behind the scenes.

The past couple of months have been full in the best way possible. There’s been a lot of movement, a lot of energy, and a lot we’re excited about. So, in this first edition, we thought we’d share a few recent moments, introduce some of the women behind Sensity, and give you a glimpse of what’s ahead.

We’re really grateful you’re here with us Heart

Hugs,

Sensity team

About Us

Before we get into everything, we wanted to share a little more about who we are, especially if you’re new here.

At Sensity, we work to support and uplift female artists, particularly those whose voices are often overlooked. We collaborate closely with emerging women artists from developing countries, helping them build sustainable careers and gain visibility in the UK, Europe, and beyond.

Sensity Studio started just over two years ago. Since then, we’ve produced three international exhibitions, launched our open call, and built a growing community of incredibly talented women artists. Seeing many of them take real steps forward in their careers has been one of the most meaningful parts of this journey for us.

We’re also supported by a network of curators, art professionals, and advisors who help us connect artists, galleries, and audiences in a way that feels more open and inclusive

At its core, Sensity is about creating space and making sure more voices are seen and heard.

Our Advisory Board

Some of you may already know that we have an advisory board, but we realised we’ve never properly introduced them.

We feel very lucky to have such thoughtful, experienced, and inspiring women supporting us behind the scenes:

Carmen Ballesta is a digital art curator from Madrid, founder of CBO Art Agency, and co-founder of TAIRA Studio.

Huma Kabakcı is a Turkish-British curator based in London and the founder and former director of Open Space Contemporary. She curated our recent group exhibition Becoming Through Pain in London.

Alisa Lisovskaia is a London-based art consultant, curator, and digital art producer. A graduate of Sotheby’s Institute of Art and an ArtTech specialist, she currently works in art consulting and serves as Art and Culture Programming Manager at art’otel. She co-curated our exhibition On the Other Way in Barcelona in September 2025.

Becoming Through Pain

On 25th March, we opened our group exhibition Becoming Through Pain at Somers Gallery in London, curated by Huma Kabakcı, and it turned into one of those evenings we won’t forget anytime soon.

The space was full all night. Artists, friends, journalists, and art lovers came together, and there was a warmth to the room that’s hard to describe. It was one of those moments that reminds you why you do this.

One of the most memorable parts of the evening was Dyana Gravina’s live performance, What I Don’t Know Yet I Know. It was intimate, subtle, and deeply moving.

The exhibition featured works by Pauline Batista, Sena Başöz, Shannon Bono, Dyana Gravina, Jennifer Nieuwland, Lolita Pelegrime, Aziza Shaden, and Gülce Tulçalı — each exploring the body as a space of memory, resilience, and transformation.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring this to life, and to those of you who came and shared the evening with us.

We hope to see you at the next one Heart

Sensity Annual Open Call

Last year, in 2025, we launched our first open call for emerging women artists, something we’ve now decided to make a yearly initiative.

Supporting and amplifying female voices remains at the centre of what we do, and the open call has become an important part of that.

Following the first edition, we presented the group exhibition On the Other Way in Barcelona, bringing together a powerful group of emerging artists.

Sensity Annual Open Call

Our 2025 open call winner is Jinguyi Li, an exceptional lace artist whose work explores feminist spaces and centres women’s stories. Using unconventional soft materials, she creates pieces that feel both raw and deeply personal, weaving together history and lived experience.

As part of her award, Jinguyi received three months of PR support from our team. Since then, her trajectory has been incredible. She was recently featured in the Financial Times as part of their coverage of Collect 2026 at Somerset House, and has also been commissioned by The New York Times for editorial illustrations.

This year’s open call will be announced on 27th May 2026.

Stay tuned, we’re really excited about what’s coming next!

Let’s stay in touch!
